Can I have some stem cells over here, please?

Today my wife went to the ER for her knee. When we were done, the tech was adjusting her legbrace, and I commented jokingly, "So when can she get some stem cells?" He looked puzzled, then called out to the nurse at the other end of the ER "Can this lady get some stem cells over here?" All the nurses looked at him liked he was crazy and a couple of patients, too. I called out, "And a martini?" Then the nurses caught on and started laughing. The fact that it's been ALL OVER the news and talk shows made it funny that he didn't know a thing about it at all, and said so.

I couldn't stop from smiling a big possum grin, and busted out laughing while I was bringing the car around.

Heh...I work in the maintenance department, when someone comes in to ask for a screwdriver my usual reply is "we're out of orange juice." :D
