I recently picked up an rs6000 7012-350, but the key used to switch the running mode has snapped in half on it. The head of the key broke off, and the rest is stuck inside the cylinder; thankfully there's enough sticking out that I can remove it with pliers though. Is there anything special or specific about the kind of keys the rs6000's use? Is it possible to have a duplicate made of these somewhere?

i believe that some of the locks were supplied by medeco and keys can't be copied because the blanks aren't available, not sure which machines specifically though

iirc on most of these machines you can just bypass the run mode switch

The obvious option is to buy a new keyswitch+key.
The next option (especially for switches with 3 or more positions) is to replace with a rotary switch, however you might struggle for space behind the panel.
