Interference on my gamegear

I have a sega game gear that keeps making interference when I use the sound. It's only on the speaker, not the headphone and I dunno how to stop it

There are a bunch of surface-mount capacitors on the audio board that can go bad, but that usually just results in low sound output as opposed to distortion. Might be something as simple as a bad connection to the speaker. I'm pretty sure it's connected with a little plug which you could try reseating.
