Hello All

I am a new member hoping to find some information that I've not been able to locate on the wide web.

I picked up an IBM PS/1 2155A-M32 (multimedia edition? it has a built-in CD-ROM) computer from the local recycling centre and noticed that the ISA bus riser board was missing.

I came across this forum post http://www.vcfed.org/forum/showthread.php?41995-IBM-PS-1-Consultant-2155-G54-486SX-ISSUE about a very similar machine. The part number of the riser mentioned there is P/N: 81f8872
An ebay search for this code seems to bring up an identical looking item - a 5-slot ISA riser board with 140 pins.

However, I also found this PS/1 Maintenance Manual for 2133/2155/2168: http://ps-2.kev009.com/pccbbs/aptiva/63g2028.pdf
which lists the part number for the 2155 as 93F2396. Also, this document: http://ps-2.kev009.com/pcpartnerinfo/ctstips/521e.htm
Neither contain the M32 sub-type specifically.

A Google search on either part number cames back as an 'IBM RISER CARD VALUE POINT 6384'.

Could somebody please help me confirm which one is the correct board for the machine?

Thanks,
Rob

I checked my PS/1 model 2155. There is an ISA riser board alright and there is a label on it marked “P/N 81F8872 EC C03360”. The PCB has this etched on it “ 220 81F8873 C03360 02” and on the other side of the pcb, another one is also etched “,$ 110 81F8873 C03360 02”. The label is probably the one has meaning when it comes to P/N. The board has four rows of sockets and one row on the other side.

Just another note...all I had on the riser board is a sound card and a modem....so the system still works without it. However the sound card also drives the CD-ROM.

Did you by any chance take any photos of the Adapter Card Unit riser? Front and back?
