It must be my birthday as I just recieved the T1600 today by post. (though I had to wait ages for it to arrive)

There is a troublesome problem on it.. I plugged it in and switched on and just about to set it up, the laptop switched itself off and the DC IN light flashes.. according to my T1600 reference manual the adapter is faulty.. I'm guessing it's the CMOS rechargable battery. Would I be right or is this more severe than I thought?

I managed to get it back on temporarily by unplugging, removing all batteries and pressing the reset button. But it would happen again

*Update* The batteries in the Laptop are good but I think the backup battery is leaking I'm not certain. Would this be the cause of the laptop switching off and flash the DCIN light? It would be rather strange if it is as the adapter should provide enough power to keep it alive?

Any thoughts please?
