Hi all, I hope you can help me out here. I am trying to use
a Diamond Speedstar VGA in my 1000 TX and having some weird
problems. When the speedstar is first inserted into the ISA
slot it will allow the computer to boot and all is normal.
When I give a 3 finger salute it will also work ok. However
here comes the weird part! if I try the reset button the computer
will hang and not reboot at all. If I power down the computer
and turn back on same as a reset the computer will not power up.
If I remove the speedstar and keep it out for a few seconds and
plug it back into the slot it will boot up normally. I tried every
switch combination on the 1000 TX. Turn off switch 1 no go
turn off switch 2 also no go. Also turn on switch 1 & 2 no go.
Every other VGA card works fine that I have tried except this one.
BTW it works fine in my turbo 8088 without any problems.
Seems to be an IRQ conflict or something else. Sorry I know this is long
winded but it's the only way to explain the problem. Any help or
suggestion would be helpful. And yes this is the card I want to
work inside the TX. Don't need to run VGAFIX or other utility.
And no I don't want to keep it on all the time.
