Trsdos loading tape?

Hi, so far I have:

sdltrs emulator for mac
model 4p
trsdos 06.02.01
the cassette I want to run a game from in the tape drive

I seem to remember there was something called cload, or system, or something that you would type to get the tape to read into memory...but it's been decades now.

Can anyone give me a tip? I'll try whatever.

Hi Dan,

The System 80 is a TRS-80 Model 1 clone so these driving instructions will be useful for using cassettes on a model 1.

The Model 4 is a different beast though. I've just got one but haven't explored the tape functionality. I suspect it's not quite the same as the Model 1.

Ok, I found a Model 3 rom and now I can get into Basic.

Cass? Memory Size? (I press enter to both)
READY
>SYSTEM

*? QUEST (the name of my program in the tape drive)

Then asterisks blink in the upper right corner for a little while. Then they stop blinking and nothing happens until I press Esc. Or I can type CLOAD and the same thing happens. I remember this vaguely from the real trs80...was I supposed to adjust the tape volume or something? I can't remember...heh
