UNIX for the DEC PDP8?

Was a version of UNIX ever made for the DEC PDP8 with 32k?

Compatibility, can a DEC PDP8 run PDP7 code?

As far as I know, UNIX could only ever be run on the pdp-11 and up. I could be wrong about this though.

Well, it ran on the PDP-7, but AFAIK the next one in line for Unix was PDP-11. I don't think it was ported to the PDP-8. The PDP-7 was an 18-bit machine and the PDP-8 a 12-bit one, so that answers the original poster's question about compatibility I think.
