Wolfenstein 3D

Ok, so I got a Wolfenstein 3D disk for my Apple IIgs.

While I like my Macs and PCs, Apple II's are NOT my specialty.

When I put it in, I get a blue screen that says "UNABLE TO LOAD PRODOS".

I assume it's missing files? Or is there something else?

If it matters, my GS has the specs:
2.8MHz
8MB RAM
3.5" and 5.25" floppy drives
HD (don't know what size, it doesn't boot)

Wolfenstein 3D is a GSOS application. It doesn't boot or run by itself; there has to be GSOS running underneath it. You'd want to reconstitute GSOS 6 disks and boot that first; then you can launch Wolf3d.
 
Oh ok. So then I will have to get this HD working then... I did get a binder with an OS on it, but I was used to when in middle school, we'd just stick a disk in and boot.
 
My GSOS was 7 disks.. Just got done installing (it didn't use all of them though).. took long enough.

Now Wolf3D runs, but is mad slow. Any ideas on speeding it up a little?
 
took me a while to remember how the hell to get that page up.

It was indeed on Normal (1MHz?) and I put it on Fast. Only about 2x faster, but the redraw rate is still quite slow to my liking (more like my 286 at 6MHz).

Perhaps a ZipGS is in order.

Oh I found it. Sweet16 on my Mac while in school showed me the keys, as it emulates the ROM too.

Did it when I got home, sure enough it was at Normal as stated, and brought it to Fast.
