Tandy 1000 Ser#725

Yes, pretty tempting.

Just a word of advice, in case you ever come back, you'll probably get more for it if you show it working than just say it's working.

I think the 1000 was bootable from the hard drive, wasn't it?

Even a prompt would show it was working, partially.

I picked up a 1000 for $20 earlier this year (keyboard, manual, hard drive, no monitor). Hard drive is internal on mine, but it boots fine off of it.

I have a Tandy 1000 SX, which I got from a fellow on the YAHOO Tandy
group for just the cost of shipping ($20). Has 5.25 and 3.5 diskette drives
and an internal 20MB hard card. I think this is a Tandy specific hard card
as it looks a lot different than the ones I've seen for the PC. It does
boot off of the hard drive, and came loaded with a bunch of old DOS games.
The guy also included a bunch of old games, still in the boxes,
Kings Quest 2 and 3 , Flight Simulator, Chuck Yeagers flight game.
Even got a complete boxed copy of Deskmate 3 with all docs :)
Came with two Tandy joysticks (which say TRS-80 on the label) , a Tandy mouse,
Tandy serial port card, and a Tandy internal modem.
This was one loaded system back in the day :)

Makes me remember our Tandy 1000... We had a sixteen color screen, no hard drive (booted off a floppy), and only had the small floppy disk drive hooked up externally. Ah, the games I used to play on that computer. I still remember coming home with a game from school once and wondering why it wouldn't work (all the school's computers were macs and I didn't know the difference at the time). I think my mom tossed that computer a few years ago.
