Anyone seen the Osborne 1 CBIOS and ROM source code in electronic format?
I know it's in the tech ref manuals, but that would be ALOT of typing.

I tried using Acrobat's OCR on what is out there, and it didn't fare so well...

Specifically, the 1.44 ROM and CBIOS

No I hadn't - thank you VERY much for that link.

You know, seriously, I don't think you get enough thanks for bitsavers...
Thanks for the tremendous amount of work you go through to do that.
It is MUCH appreciated.

I have the rom source from my own machine, but not the character generator rom, I can email it.
it's zipped intel hex.
edit - damn, bitsavers might have saved me a job!

Nige, I think that's actually the ROM image, like for burning out to EPROM or to use in emulation (mess).

Anyone seen the proper images for MESS? looks for osb144.bin osbchr.bin ?

Sorry, I was not reading your original post correctly!
Yes it is the ROM image in intel hex for burning to eprom.
I was imagining that you had a possibly faulty ROM.

You know what would really be cool?
A tool like WinImage to open all the various CP/M disk images. I mean, some of these fine community programmers already know the formats, and can reproduce/image these disks at will - being able to open them in a Windows app similar to WinImage, to drag and drop stuff in or out of the images, would be the absolute cat's meow.

Well, you know what I mean...the major ones, at least.
Kaypro, Osborne, Morrow, Imasi/Altair...most of them are documented in 22Disk, right?

Unfortunately, those seem to be 77 track 8" SD images, and I haven't completed my imaging system. Got the 8" adapter, got the adaptec, got the 8" drives (in an Altos ACS-8000), just need the 8" drive cables (Digi-Key) and a system with an ISA bus for the Adaptec AHA-1542, and I should be good to go.

Anyone have the capability to extract the files from those 7 images?
