yes, i posted about this in the past but i thought i'd try again. :p

does anybody have something they'd be willing to part with? i'd really like to get my 8088 going with a hard drive again, and i want to stay away from MFM - all the drives are so incredibly old.

i'd prefer not to mess with SCSI cards and drives. there are a few on ebay, but tbh i can't shell out that kind of cash on stuff like this. if there is any kind soul willing to let a working one go cheap, let me know! thanks.

2 Graphics Cards up for grabs.8 nit i think not sure. Condition Unknow, cant test as not system to test them in with.. Buy at your own risk.??
Offers With P+P

I have only one and it's in production use with a CF card in my 5160, sorry... if I run across two more ;-) I'll think of you

Can you elaborate on what you're using. Is this a card that can be bought or did u make it yourself?

Thanks!

I did some analysis to this issue, the problem of storage on the XT's, on my page 'Mundo Viejuno', but in spanish.

I've translated the article via google and the results are pretty accurate:

An iomega zip 100 and a bidirectional parallel port is a cheap and easy storage solution for a XT :)

If you don't have a 8 bit bidirectional card, you can use a typical 16 bit multi I/O card, those that have ide, floppies, 2 rs232, joystick, parallel...

Just disable the ide controller (that's the upper 8 bits of the isa bus), and you have a nice floppy controller and a bidirectional parallel port. Even you can have high density floppies on a xt, just by using the drivparm command on msdos ;)

that's exactly what i'm doing... 16-bit controller. :)

i never got a HD MS-DOS disk to boot on it, but caldera works without issues and don't even need to change any parameters.

ooh i found a ZIP drive w/ disks in the area for $10 on craigslist :)
