well spending time on this forum has gotten me thinkin...

I want to get my DOS 6.22 computer back up and running...

Processor: AMD 486 DX4-100
Memory: 16mb (4x4mb 30pin Simms)
Drive: 2gb Toshiba Laptop Drive
Video: 256 color 640x480 VGA LCD 1mb
Sound: Integrated Crystal Sound Chip (SB/SBPRO dos emulation)
Expansion: 1x ISA 16bit slot, 2x PCMCIA 16bit slots
OS: Dos 6.22 & Windows 3.1 FWG /w PC-tools Desktop
Purpose: C64 emulation via VICE for DOS and DOS Gaming

I have to use my old gateway laptop to setup the drive, because i don't have a floppy or cd for the planar...

once it is bootable, then i can use the zip drive to copy the dos folder and windows install folder...

pc-tools has to be installed from floppies... so that will take some effort...

lots of challenges... i think i will start tonight... :)

later,
Chris

Indeed, I can hear several of my 486 systems whining in the background. They want some attention too. I did put 16MB in the PS/2 Model 53. I was disappointed when that extra 8MB didn't get recognized. Such is life.

well i found all 8 disks for windows 3.1 :)

i am going with a 15gb drive... if i can get it to boot...

i have about 500mb of early dos games...

Or get a hold of an old C64 case & kbd and one of the C64 keyboard > PS/2 converters (e.g. C=key from Jim Brain) for the *real* emulation experience; you just need a way to slow the file loading down to 1541 speeds ;-)
