I just picked up a really nice 5000 but, alas it has no ram. If anyone knows a source I'd love to hear about it but, I'm curious if it was use in anything else besides the 5000. Might make it easier to find. Anyone know ?

I did some quick googling. The only thing I can find are references to DEC part numbers and mailing list post that says it has more than 72 pins and that it is ECC memory.. so something from a same-age PC will probably not work.

Don't take my word for it though, I have no experience with DECstations.

These used some giant things that were 128pin modules. You can kind of see them here. They were pretty easy to find in the 90's but, it may be impossible now outside of a working unit.

You would be suprised to find that Micron/Crucial actually carries RAM for DEC stuff... but you will pay. Check it out and see.
