Hello,
is the tm100-1
Single Sided and Single Density
or
Single Sided and Douple Density

i ve
3 floppy disk with 48tpi
5 floppy disk with 2S2D
what are the right one?
both?

greetings thx

The TM-100-1 is a single-sided drive. The density (single/double) is a function of the floppy controller, not the drive. The Kaypro boot disk should be double-density, single-sided.

Double-sided drives can be 96 tpi or 48 tpi. The ones capable of high-density (1.2MB) are 96 tpi. The ones that can only read and write 360 or 180K are 48 tpi.

You can verify the operation of your floppy on your PC by formatting a DOS diskette as single-sided using:

FORMAT <drive:> /1

where <drive:> is the drive letter.

This should work on most DOS versions up through DOS 7/Windows 95. You should be able to copy files to and from the diskette.

Hello,
i ve time again to test the drive.
i test the format A: /1 option.
i get this error message:
cant write boot sector.

thanks for your help!4
