I was at my local Goodwill Outlet and found a Apple eMac in one of the bins. 1 GHZ G4, 1 GB of RAM and a 60 Gb HD. They rang it up as a monitor and I'm afraid I wasn't honest enough to tell them it wasn't. They have a policy of not selling systems with HDs so it would have been trashed if I had.

That wasn't a goodwill store. It sounds more like a recycling center.

Goodwill Outlets are not typical Goodwill stores. Basically they're the end of the line for items that didn't sell in a regular Goodwill retail store. Items are trucked in and dumped in a bunch of bins for folks to dig through. Most items are sold by the pound with the exceptions being things like PCs, monitors, CD/DVDs and unusually heavy items (which they'll price on the spot for you)
