IBM PS/2 Model 70

My model P70 has the 2x rows of 17 pins=34. But on the Model 70 from what I can see in some the pictures on-line it looks like a card edge type connector to me. Well I'll see it if I get the one on Epay. Thers is 3:00hrs to go and I could still be out bid but I hope not. ;)

Hi,

I have an IBM PS/2 and IBM monitor, I purchased brand new($4,000+-). It is like brand new stored in it's original box, with everything. I was the only person used it for few years before, it worked perfectly with no problems at all. Are you interested in purchasing it?

I just checked my PS2. The back says 8570-121. I don't remember the exact spec for this piece. What can one use this for? BTW, the monitor is 8513001 color monitor.

That´s going to be a 386DX 16 or 20MHz model (the 8570-Axx version of the OP is a 386DX-25MHz with 128Kb of L2 cache, and can be upgraded with a rare 486DX-25 daughtercard) ¨Type 1¨ (long) or ¨Type 2¨ (short) planar. 8570-Bxx submodels are a 486DX (there is another version besides the Axx planar with 486 daughtercard, similiar to the Reply 8570 upgrade planar). Sounds similar to mine but the one I have is a 386-25Mhz with 64K Cache RAM. As to what you could with it nowadays run DOS OS/2 or Windows 3.x and Maybe Windows 95 depending on RAM. I run OS/2 2.00 on mine and DOS 5.0. ed@1283alb the one you have is probably an 386-20Mhz with 4 or 6 MB RAM and a 120MB Harddrive and 1 floppy.

From cctalk list (not mine):

In my unending quest to de-clutter my house, I offer up the following
(local pickup only, please, in the Seattle area); unclaimed stuff goes
to RE-PC next week:

- IBM PS/2 Model 70/386 - 4MB ram, one 1.44mb floppy drive, no hard
drive (but sled is present). Powers up and works fine as far as I can tell.

- 2x IBM PC Convertible, one printer + serial port expansion. One with
backlight, one with transflective LCD screen. Two carrying cases with
two different designs. One AC adapter. IBM's first "laptop." Ugliest
thing in the world, and has the most impractical expansion system I've
ever seen. Kinda neat, but I haven't used them in years and I don't
foresee getting any use out of them, so...

- Sun Ultra Enterprise 2 - 512MB ram, 2xUltraSparc IIi processor
(333Mhz, IIRC) no hard drives, but I have sleds.

- DEC VR262 monitor. 19" monochrome. Just traded away my VCB01 so I've
no use whatsoever for this. It works, but probably needs a new
capacitor or two to make it really hum.

- Compaq 15/30GB DLT drive. No idea if it works; bought it years ago
from Boeing surplus but never actually put it to use as I had intended...

Thanks as always...
Josh

Thank you for your information. I gather that my IBM PS2 is worthless :((. It will go to junk yard soon!
