O right. Well thankfully the guy upstairs pays PGE directly and I pay him, so no danger of losing power and gas. I manage to pay him every 3 months or so, and he seems happy with this.

So... I know this is a really old post, but I found the solution today. Simply flip the inside copper coils of the motor upside-down so the shaft part is against the opposite coil. Good luck!
