Hello Everyone!

I've acquired an vintage Kontron EPP-80 EPROM programmer.
There si an serial port on the programmer. I wonder does anyone
have software to load an ROM image to the programmer?

Thanks in advance!

Roland

Hello Chuck,

I'd already found these files. But these are manuals
and the ROM images from the programmer itself.

Unfortunately no PC program to download...

Hi Roland,

I may be a little thick-headed today, but doesn't section 6.5.2 of the User's Manual cover communication with the EPP? If this were my box, I'd get a comm program such as Procomm Plus on my (DOS) PC and get to work talking to the thing.

But perhaps there's something I don't understand about your question.

Hello Chuck,

That's worth a try!

I'd expect some PC software for this programmer to be available.
So if anyone has software for this programmer I'll be very interested.

For now the Procomm is a good idea

Regards, Roland

You can try to email Christian C from this message

He indicated he uses an EPP-80. Seems to be associated with the same uni-stuttgart.de that Chuck_G referenced

Hello Russ,

I'd email some people on the web. one person replied for so far.

But is seems I can not use the programmer anyway. I need to program a 2708.
According the manual it supports it, but I do not have the right plug in module :(:(:(

That would have been my guess--the 2708 PROMs require 3 supply voltages and are somewhat power-hungry. Most 90's-era programmers required an adapter module. You'd have to go back to the 1970s to find a programmer that would work with these without some sort of adapter, I think.
