Hello Everyone,

I have a CDC BR8A8-A eight inch floppy drive. It's an 230V/50Hz model.
I can not find the information I need to connect the drive. It seems to have
a different pinout and also the power connector is a different model than the 851 models.

I think there has to be an 115V/60Hz model which is the same except the motor.
But a 115V model shall have another model number I think...

Does anyone have technical information about the drive? I think it's DSDD
but I've got no idea how to connect it...

And in which computers were these units used? DEC?

Hello Chuck,

Thanks for the document. I can not find my drive model in the list.
But I think the document should help to figure out the pin out.

If anyone can supply the document describing the BR8A8-A drive
than I'm still very interested!

Regards, Roland

@ Chuck,

Oh wouw! many thanks :)
Now I can figure out how I can use the drive.

@ Chuckster_in_Jax

Well this drive has an other model power connector.
Also the dataconnector is not the edge type from
the 851 but an 50 pin header model.
But thanks for searching for me!

Regards, Roland
