My last 486 / Pentium Hardware Question for this week!

Here is the Graphics Card in my Pentium 1 (Pentium 1 - 75MHZ - SX969)

Its a Tseng ET4000/W32P

I dont know a ton about this card, but found a long datasheet about it...it "looks" like there is room for upgrade chips? Not sure...

Please cure my stupidity!!

Yep. It has 1MB, can be upgraded to 2MB. It takes 256k x 16 FPM 70ns DRAMs, same as the ones that came equipped on your Trident VLB card, and the same as the ones I linked for upgrading the... whateveritwas... JAX card, I think?

That Tseng card is pretty awesome for DOS games... it's one of the fastest and most compatible DOS cards out there. Windows performance is pretty good too. And it's actually worth upgrading that one to 2MB, since that will increase the memory bandwidth and make it even faster. (Adding the other memory chips will enable it to use an interleaved memory mode, which increases the bandwidth considerably.)
