I have both an Apple IIe and a Mac SE 30 HD. Since I am a complete newbie to Mac systems, I want to upgrade the Mac to add more memory to the Mac SE. I have already added a memory upgrade card to 128Megs, but I don't know about setting up the system to use the new memory. Do I just plug in the upgrade board, or is there something else I'm missing? Thanks much

If you're using system 6 on a 128 meg Mac SE/30, you'll need to run the MODE32 extension for it to use all of it, otherwise it will only see/use 8 megabytes.

I think system 7 doesn't require it... though I could be wrong.

Thanks for the suggestion. As far as the Mac SE, I did buy a memory upgrade, and have a new copy of version of the Mac OS version 6.08. I also have a copy of MAC OS version 7.0?. Once we get the OS delivered, we'll try installing the new copy of Mac OS 6.08, then upgrade with what we have.

Thanks again.

To an SE/30?

There are 8 RAM slots in an SE/30. IIRC the max RAM module (per slot) is 16 Mb. Maybe eight memory upgrade cards?
