C2n cassette attached to internal cassette 2001-8

Looking for info about using the internal cassette port of the orig 2001-8 to attach a c2n cassette at least for testing purposes. Yes I know you can use the external tape two port. My poss plan is to replace the internal cassette with a long style c2n if it will fit. My internal drive ain't to hot. Because this is Commodore I assume you can't use a c2n on the internal connector because that would be too easy. If I find the info I need I will post..what I am looking for is a comparison between the tape 1 and tape 2 edge connectors. I have not found anything schematics-wise that I can easily read clearly/conclusively.

Bill,
the board edge connector (J6) is on the side closest to the internal cassette and is the exact same as the external cassette (J3). See Top Assembly drawing below.
