Rebuilding ruined mid-1990s Pentium Laptops

It could be the sound board. Can't remember exactly, over a decade ago i opened one.

Do you have a board that looks a bit like this in yours?

Not that I see, but I also can't really see how I would put that in the laptop... But I think it's probably the sound board, since that would fit, but not connect, in my model.

THE TOSHIBA LIVES ONCE MORE! Except it doesn't. The caps lock light blinks three times, then the system stalls.
Are the three blinks an error code?

Yes, it is an error code. I can't remember, and Google doesn't find anything right now. Probably memory error, or trouble with the keyboard (A20 line?).
