Hi,

We have just introduced the MicroCore Labs MCL86 which is a microsequencer based, cycle compatible soft IP 8088 8086 FPGA core. It has been ported to a Kintex-7 FPGA and adapted to a 40-pin header where is replaces the original 8088 on an IBM 5160 XT motherboard.

Check out our YouTube demonstration page to see it work. http://www.MicroCoreLabs.com

Thx,
-Ted

Some pictures of the actual hardware would be nice, you just have videos of things running, which could be on anything.

Hi,

We are proud to announce the release of the MicroCore Labs MCL51 which is an ultra-small footprint, microsequencer based, 8051 compatible soft processor core.

The microsequencer based MCL51 can consumes as few as 312 Xilinx Artix-7 LUTs and is a fraction of the size of competing logic-based 8051 cores.

Please visit our blog at https://microcorelabs.wordpress.com/ or our YouTube video demo page at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9B3TaEUon-araO2j7tp9jg to see the core running applications that include a Quad Core 8051!

For more information on the MCL51 or the MCL86, please visit us at http://www.MicroCoreLabs.com

Thanks,
-Edward

I assume you are in the contract engineering business. What is the license cost of such cores? And why advertise here?

As a drop-in replacement goes, it will do for most tasks, but they admit it is only cycle compatible to one to two clocks of a real 8088. It cannot quite pull off 8088MPH perfectly, but it comes closer than most software emulators.
