Does anyone have the full VFW package with all of the codecs and capture utilities?

VFW was part of the MSDN distribution back in the day. I may have the CD, if nobody else steps up.

I don't think any version of VFW was complete with all codecs and capture utilities. Many of those were only available from the vendor. I did find VFWDK 1.1E which includes a note saying that DCISVGA (generic DCI) support was removed for this version so if you want that you would need an earlier VFWDK.

I managed to find VFW 1.1e and installed the codecs, but where's vidcap and all that?

Google helps, but it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack sometimes !! LOL

My copy of VFW 1.1e includes a VIDCAP.EX_ of 72kB and VIDCAP.HL_ of 59kB. It is in the Winvideo directory. Sounds like you just got a sparse version of the runtime.

VFWDK directory includes about 50 sample programs with source code. Haven't actually looked at what is there in over a decade.

Multilingual = 9 MB
Runtime = 7 MB
VFWDK = 8 MB
WINVIDEO = 3 MB

If the installer you found is smaller, you are missing stuff.

Used to be possible to download it off MS's FTP site. With all the changes made, I can't find it right now. Try a search for VFWDK. If you don't find it, send me a PM.
