Where's the list of Computers in this museum?

It seems to have a lot about everything else but.

I'll just stick with the old-computers museum! :)

Cheers.

They do have a list of exhibits and artifacts, but they are a brick-and-mortar museum, not an online one. Their main focus is on setting up their artifacts for static display and maintaining researchable archives for use.

Their collection spans the history of computing from one of the first Big Iron machines (the Johniac) to fairly current PCs from the early to mid 80s and sometimes beyond.

Sorry, but I'm just a bit confused about this site.
When I was looking at it, it just seemed more
of a look at the bits & pieces from different
eras in computing (rather than a walk around
looking at the machines). I'd just find it odd
than to see the computer itself to see the CPU
taken out of it!

But maybe someone is interested.

The online museum I've listed here seems to
be a look at a history of computers (but in a
historical sense, which makes it a museum).
I've heard about some which provide more
than a look in playing with one through your
computer, so I guess the Museum you've
provided goes into that.

It's a bit strange for me with it being like that,
because more actual museums I've been into
don't have that play with the exhibits & hang
up signs saying it's not to be touched! :)

Cheers.

Yes that's quite nice. I've noticed he listed some names of
Sega machines (the two early computers - not the
consoles). I remember seeing one of them in a second
hand store quite a long time back now & was almost
tempted to get it. Sadily, being younger at the time
I just couldn't do it because I didn't want to go though
the reaction from my family! :-( But it was certainally
cheap enough & had some software available there
for it. But maybe my destiny was to obtain a Jupiter
Ace! :)

Cheers.

Whoops I almost forgot about this site. Its called welcome to XT Computers(About the old I.B.M. and Tandy 100 computers. It has a forum too
(Erics is the best though).
Here it is http://come.to/xtcomputers
I've noticed that it has pop-ups though(I have a pop-up blocker so it doesn't bother me). This site has been up for quite a long time.

Naturally! :) This forum allows discussion about any
vintage computer. You could talk about XT's, PDPs,
EDSACs or any ol' machine (well not any ol' machine
in the sense of any machine!). :)

Yes, I've been there. It's been a while though.

Hi CP/M User Well I'm on AOL so they provide a free pop-up blocker in version 8.0.However if you do
a internet search for tucows,Cnet or say a pop up ad blocker I'm sure you will find plenty.I bought a modem once that had a free pop up ad blocker.

Yep. Webrings are a neat thing and I'm familiar with this one. Unfortunately the thing doesn't seem to be current or perhaps the signup is just too complicated for me. I've tried to get added to the ring a couple of times without success.

Some of the sites listed there are now defunct, as well.

Sounds like an ol' site which is no longer
maintained! :-(

That the sad thing about websites, some people
go to so much hard work to make them happen
then go away & leave them there to age.

Don't feel too bad CP/M user. There are still a bunch of valid links there even though the site is not updated.

I got an email the other day with the following in the contents:

The RingMaster of Computers, Videogames and Arcade Collector's Ring, foster_ringmanager, invites you to assume the responsiblity of RingMaster.

Basically, the ring was orphaned (the ring master abandoned it) and the webring system put it up for "adoption" to a member of the ring. I think my membership might have been the trigger since I had to get my application bumped above the ringmaster.

Either way, I've applied to be the ringmaster. Others may have also. The end result will be an active, well maintained ring (I hope) regardless.
