Wrap cable for serial/parallel port testing?

When trying to install a serial port on my IBM, it asks me to to a wrap plug test on it, but I don't have that type of plug. Is there anyway I can get around this or easily make my own?

I basically understand what needsto be done - on the serial port, pin 2 needs to be connected to pin 3, or something like that, but I have never done anything like this before, and I don't want to damage my PC.

Suggestions? Does anyone out there actually have an extra wrap plug or cable? Because I need to test it when installing it for it to be installed, and I need these ports if I want to install a mouse.

Not to worry; just plug the board in, connect the mouse, then run the mouse test program.

The only concern is which port is selected. ( COM1: .. COM4: )
