Tandy 1500HD/2810/3810HD Laptop 26-Pin FPC Floppy Drive Ribbon Cable

Hey, I recognize that flex cable picture! :) :) Thank you so much for the instructions and helping others with this! I'm working on getting the reverse cable constructed in order to add it to my GitHub repo. Thank you for using my Gerbers - you are the first one to have them made besides...

Adventures in 1084S-P (Philips) monitor repair - and questions

And thanks to some tips from TheRetroChannel, we’ve finished getting this repair on the 1084S done! The dim bulb tester needed to be upgraded to 100W from 60W, and then we confirmed the 15kHz audio signal on the waveform analyzer. Then, it was turning up the brightness on the fly back and...

Adventures in 1084S-P (Philips) monitor repair - and questions

Tested the yoke today (I saw that somewhere else too mentioned to make sure there wasn't a dead short.) The red/blue was 12.2 ohms. The yellow/green was 2.3/2.4 ohms. That seems to line up with what I see elsewhere for the CM8833.

Adventures in 1084S-P (Philips) monitor repair - and questions

So - some updates here. Was test day since everything got reassembled, and I got the isolation transformer and light bulb current limiter in place, and had tested the SMPS PSU. 1) I measured some voltages with the PSU under load with a 25W 120V light bulb. Adjusted it down slightly to 125V...

DuPAL construction - has anyone made one?

I did - I built the older one that was around the date/time of the post you quoted. I was able to hook a USB to TTL RS232 and bypass the MAX232 IC up and use it that way just fine. We figured out quite a few locked PALs for the TI-99/4A system! As well as the Coco MPI.

Adventures in 1084S-P (Philips) monitor repair - and questions

Yep, it was exactly 4mm behind the other pin (toward the back of the monitor). My only complaints about these third party flybacks is that they're not 100% aligned, and I had to take off the metal shield and futz around with the pins to get it to drop in. Those two traces I put underneath are...

This should hopefully keep the fly back away from those two traces now.

Adventures in 1084S-P (Philips) monitor repair - and questions

Thanks, Monty! I want to test the SMP independently (not attached to the chassis). Since it has four voltage outputs (120V for the degauss coil and a four-pin header with 120V, 16V, and 26V), I’m wondering if loading the 120V line with a 25W light bulb would be enough to get it running, like an...

Adventures in 1084S-P (Philips) monitor repair - and questions

I have one of those too, a D1 - it displays purple (green gun out?) on composite. And on RGB, I get a crazy out of sync picture (maybe blue, but I'm guessing purple). That's my next project.

Yep, hotlinked the 1084S above with it!

Adventures in 1084S-P (Philips) monitor repair - and questions

Hey everyone, My 1084S-P (Philips, 1990) failed after being left on for several hours. The room filled with a burnt electronics smell, the LED stayed on, but there was no HV sound. Based on discussions with my local computer group, it likely points to a flyback failure. After disassembling the...

Tandy 1100FD/HD Service Manual (Panasonic BP150) wanted

You have just enabled a lot of fun on this system... I think we've found the right connector for the ISA bus, so that means we can now have some fun with it! :) Thank you once again!

I think these are the connectors. Someone want to double check me? I want to lay out a Picomem 8 bit adapter for this. 1100FD: https://multimedia.3m.com/mws/media/218461O/3mtm-050-in-skt-050strt-ra-w-ret-clips-flng-opt-ts2047.pdf - 3M TS2047 - possibly the P50-050S-RR1-EA - 50 pin female...
