The early versions of TIM for CP/M or MSDOS were in Microsoft BASIC. While I'd love an original copy, any copy of any version would be appreciated as well as documentation. I have docs for version IV (compiled, MSDOS) if anyone is interested.
Still looking for for either CP/M and/or MS-DOS version(s) of T.I.M. written in BASIC by Innovative Software of Topeka KS. Any version would be appreciated but especially TIM IV for MS-DOS. I have some doc (and willing to share) so a copy of the program without docs is good, too.
Thanks!
I'm just trying to replicate my late 70's early 80's setup. At one point I had each of the above units. Now I will settle for any one of them. I can't afford the $500 for the one on eBay and I do have an SC-01A chip so I would take a unit where the the Votrax chip had been removed.
T.I.M. stands for Total Information Management. Innovative Software was located in Kansas. Original disks would be nice but I will settle for good copies.
I used the sense switches for the Music System on my Sol-20. Here is the box I built to add an external speaker, volume control and the sense switches to change the playback speed. This was about the limit of my microcomputer design limits in the late 70's. (And I haven't advanced much further...
FWIW my CCS has a 12-slot MB and the power supply in a 21 x 12 x 7 chassis. I don't know if they had other versions. I have an almost complete board set - missing the floppy controller. It's on my list for restoration as soon as I get a round Tuit.
Nostalgia can take you to the strangest places!
I recently learned that the T.I.M. database manager (Total Information Management) eventually evolved from the CP/M version I used WayBack When into T.I.M. IV running on the PC; it was written in MBASIC - at least the CP/M version was. I have...
Has anyone tried re-painting the metal case on a Sol-20? Do you have a recommendation for a matching color from a particular company? Any tips on repainting? I actually want to paint an old Cipher 'floppy tape' case - I removed the tape drive and can fit 2 HH 5.25" drives in there, and I'd...
I won't be able to attend VCF East this year because I will be out of town at my granddaughter's birthday; I had planned to bring them. They haven't been tested and will at least require new keyboard pads and testing of the caps in the power supply. If any one is interested in one or both of...
This WP program was a 1982 re-write (for MS-DOS) of the original Electric Pencil by Michael Shrayer. Even the two authors don't have copies any longer! I have looked around for the past year but can't seem to find a copy. I do have the original for my Sol, but would love to see this PC...
I'm restoring an Altair 8800 which I received without the thin aluminum MITS ALTAIR 8800 nameplate on the bottom of the front panel. The best reproduction I can have made around here (Hartford, CT) would be either a durable but very flexible vinyl (?) film which looks like brushed aluminum, or...
