    Apple IIGS

I have a working Inner Drive but I’ve never seen the Manual anywhere though I did spend some time searching. The Inner Drive uses an 8 bit version of the WD drive which are pretty rare. Almost all the ide drives were 16 bit and they won’t work with the 8 bit inner drive card. Same goes for CFs...

    LASER External floppy drive

I'm in Canada. With the extra charges from FEDEX, it'd likely be about the same cost to just buy a drive

    LASER External floppy drive

I have a long and a short UDC card and neither works with the 3.5” UniDisk. I never looked into that to see if there was a work around as I had other options. The cards work well with drives like the Laser and Ehman drives but then they were bundled with those. The IIgs A9M0106 reads and writes...

    LASER External floppy drive

I don’t know why but later issue small cards are missing a crystal, a cap and a resistor

    LASER External floppy drive

There were 2 versions of the UDC card. One is shown without the 19 pin adapters. If you don't have one of these then there's nothing else that'll let you use the drive on any Apple II.

    LASER External floppy drive

If the Laser floppy drive is a 5.25” drive then it’ll work fine with the apple i/o controller in any slot except 3. If the Laser floppy drive is a 3.5” drive then it won’t work with the Apple i/o controller. For a Laser 3.5”floppy drive you’ll need a UDC card. It also doesn’t work with the...

u-Sci A2 and Disk II questions

I’ve used a disk controller in slot 7 many times. The only reason people almost always use slot 6 is because it became customary so a lot of software expects it there. Most likely the ULN2003 is the only one blown. Unless you have a chip tester there’s really no way to check the other chips. Be...

    QC-10/20 HD utility

I’m looking for the Apple II Utilities disk for the Quark Peripherals QC-10/20 hard drive. Hoping someone here either has it or might know where to find it.

    Damn Upgrades!

The Keyboard encoder is different but you can swap in a complete keyboard with encoder. That’d tell you if the issue is on the motherboard or not

    Damn Upgrades!

The Rev 4 was the last Apple II to use the 2513 ROM. The later 341-0036 was not compatible with the Rev 4 and earlier Apple II motherboards. The 341-0036 is a 2716 compatible ROM

Getting from 64KB to 128KB on a stock Apple IIe the HARD way.

Years ago on ebay I saw a card that plugged into an 80 column card to give it 64k. You moved some chips over and it plugged into their sockets. It was quite a while ago and I don't recall anything else

Getting from 64KB to 128KB on a stock Apple IIe the HARD way.

I had a number of early 80 column cards with 1k. I kept a couple in case I should ever think of a use and recycled the rest.
