Hi,
I would like to upgrade a 1.2GB Harddrive to the maximum possible. What is the maximum possible?
I either replace the existing one or add another one as a second one.
I have Win98 installed and the main software is a DOS based program and I am running out of space for the data.
The motherboard is a pentium 166.

I am looking forward to the recommendation

We need to know more about your computer. Generally there's no limit since hardware limitations can be overcome by software...

The limits, generally, were ~528MB, ~2GB, ~8GB and ~137GB... Unless I'm wrong.

You should be good for just about any drive with Win98 (especially with SE).

If you can't use the entire drive for one partition then FDisk will let you split it up into separate drives.

Alternately you can also use some aftermarket software to use the whole drive if that's an issue.

Your biggest concern should be the type of drive you've got (IDE, EIDE, SCSI, etc.) and matching the replacement to the controller type.

Good luck!
