Hey guys after scouring the internet for days trying to bring a computer from my childhood back to life, I decided to stop by here and see if someone can help me. I have an 386 motherboard with a corrupted BIOS chip, and I'm trying to locate a new file to program to a new chip to bring it back online. Using my chip programmer, I have managed to read the chip and extract the identification code from the bios that would normally display in the lower left hand corner of the screen.

30-400-ZZ1247-00101111-050591-PEAKDM

The board uses 3 CHIPS and Technologies chips, numbered as follows...

F82C351, F82C355, F82C356

I believe the board is an ABIT FU325/FU333/FU340.

Thanks guys!

I own the 386 board in question. After work I can upload the ROM.

You guys are awesome! I tried both BIOS files, and both work great. It was awesome to see the board back to life after being stuck in a closet for so many years. I was hoping the 486 version of the BIOS might have LBA support for larger drives, but no luck. Does anyone know if anyone made a BIOS for this chipset with LBA support?

I attached a bios file with the ID 40-0200-DN1429-00101111-050591-PEAKDM_B
It is from a 486 board with the same chipset.

(binary file, just remove the ".zip" extension)
Hi, I have exactly the same Bios Id and I am researching who is the manufacturer of that motherboard. Do you have more information about it?
Thanks in advance

Welcome to these forums.

I do not think that you should assume that you have the same motherboard as diodenmann has.
Maybe that BIOS was used on a few different motherboards.
I think that you should create a new thread, one containing a photo of your motherboard, asking for help in identification of the motherboard.

( Note that diodenmann is unlikely to answer your question, because he was last on these forums in 2020. )

I have a 386 motherboard with that chipset, and absolutely no maker/model info on the board.

BIOS reports:
30-0400-ZZ1540-00101111-050591-PEAKDM-8

It broke down on me today, related to (an evidently unfinished) Varta battery corrosion repair I had done previously to get it working.

I was *so* disappointed when it gave up the ghost.

So I removed the 7407 chip which had one corroded pin, and found a corroded trace underneath. It still showed continuity, but I repaired the trace anyways. Put a socket in for the 7407. Replaced the 8 MHz crystal that also had a touch of corrosion nearby, and three low pF capacitors in that area.

It's working again.IMG_1437.jpg
