Amazing MITAC 3020FDA laptop restoration

I got this amazing little rectangle box made by MITAC with 25MHZ 386 CPU.
Due to the rare power plug, I haven't boot it up now.

I trashed one of these a few years ago, since it was heavily damaged by battery leakage and I had no use for it anyway. I still have the original power brick, however.

I have a fully restored MiTAC 4022 which I use from time to time.

Problems:
1. The WD HDD doesn't work. CF IDE adapter can't be identified. Which kind of adapter I should use?
2. The LCD screen has some gray belts at the bottom even the caps had been replaced by Tantalum.
Can anybody help me?
