Amstrad CTM644 colour monitor flickering

Hello all

I bought an Amstrad CPC 464 that came with a colour monitor.

The thing powers on, and the games load, but the monitor flickers something rotten.

I have checked the wires which seem to be fine, testing the connection doesnt seem to make a difference.

I took the case off, everything looks reasonable enough. I read that the solder points on the back of the CRT might need checking, so I resoldered any that looked worse then the others, but still no change and its driving me made.

Do you have any ideas that could resolve?

Do the adjustment potmeters work ok?
(do the easy ones first, like brightness, intensity and so on. Don't mess with the ones used to calibrate picture size, orientation and so on at first)
