Amstrad PC1640 Floppy Cable

Hi all, just after some advice, can I replace the floppy cable on the 1640 with one with a twist, I know I will have to solder it but thats not a problem.

The usual twisted cable swaps pins 10/16 and 12/14 (motor enable A/B and drive select A/B). For the PC1640 I think you'd want one with a smaller twist that only swaps pins 12/14 (drive select A/B) as the motherboard only outputs motor select on pin 16.
