Anybody ever buy anything on Etsy?

Remember, most of the beige ones are anti-3rd-party. Only takes genuine TI stuff.

Some one was selling Apple bit on there because they were banned from Ebay...

I note for example that the link shown allows returns but you pay postage so likely to be nearly as much as the computer...

Steve Landon sold Apple gear there, google him.

I like ebay just because as a buyer you have quite a bit of protection from bad sellers. Outside of that and forums (using paypal) I don't use anything else.

That is normal operating procedure. On eBay you pay for the return postage yourself, and on Amazon.com they deduct the return postage cost from the amount refunded to you.

Checking if a beige TI-99/4A allows third-party cartridges or not is as simple as turning it on and seeing whether the copyright date on the splash screen is 1981 or 1983. If it's 1981 it'll play anything, and if it's 1983 it will only play TI games. My beige TI-99/4A has the 1981 copyright date and plays Atarisoft game cartridges just fine.
