The numbers on the large chip in pic #3 are NEC 8628W9 V30. Possibly some plug-in processor upgrade?

I wonder if it's not a V30 replacement for some 64-pin CPU such as a TMS9900? The logic on the board (GALs and latches) might be a hint. Of course, any software would be utterly incompatible.

This reminds me of a DOS compatibility board for an Atari ST 68000 processor, but the one I am thinking of doesn't look like that.

Placement of power and ground traces would suggest
a 68000 replacement.
