Apple IIe sticky delete key

My delete key has started sticking in the down position somewhat often. I tried spraying a little deoxit down the stem but it didn’t really help. I’m assuming I need to desolder the key switch and clean it or maybe replace the spring (?). Any advice? Should I just replace the switch altogether?

By the way since I posted this I disassembled the delete key and discovered that the post is indeed broken (see picture). With the guidance of VERAULT I ordered some replacements from eBay.
