Apple III to Disk II pinout?

Does anyone have an adapter pinout to adapt an Apple III to a Disk II? There has been a little discussion and links here:

but nothing definitive. I now have the pinout for a Disk III to Disk III+ (IDC 26 to DB-25) adapter, so I'm closer - but still want to adapt a Disk II to an Apple III.

I don't think you can do this with only a cable. ISTR that Apple did this on purpose to prevent Apple 2 owners from recycling their hardware by using a different analog card. Look at:

There are Disk 3 schematics and specifications, including a discussion about calibrating a Disk 3 on an Apple //e.

My ultimate goal is to test the A2HDDD with the Apple ///. The signals are so similar that it should only require monkeying with the two enable lines. I'm rattling some old Apple ///er's cages now, and some results should be forthcoming...
