Hi,
This post is for a friend that is looking for the System disks or a way to find to get the Bios for a Compaq Armada 7730MT.
He says they are on the HD and not the motherboard. When the HD went bad and he had to replace it. He lost the Bios with old HD. He says there is no Bios on the motherboard. He has not been able to find it any where.

Thanks,
Geo3

Diagnostix/Setup partition

Diagnostix/Setup partition

This is generally known as a Diagnostic/Setup partition. It is the priomary boot partition, but if F10 is not pressed within a certain timeframe, the BIOS code of the Compaq would boot the next partition (DOS/Windows etc.)

This can be re-created, but usually, only when the hard drive is blank.

The good news is that you can also run the dianostics/setup frmo a floppy disk as well.

You should be able to source the setup/diag disk from the Compaq/HP website with ease. This cvan be used as is, or to re-create the partition (if the disk is blank, as previously mentioned).

Paul.
