In this video we take a look at a Commodore 2000K ‘Pong’ console. Who knew C= made a ‘Pong’ console? Not only that they made their own microcontroller chip for it! This one stopped working when something metallic accidently dropped on the PCB when powered up. Join in and let’s see if we can fix it!

Until a friend sent this for repair, I did not know Commodore made a 'Pong' console. Then I was even more surprised to find it used their own microcontroller. This unit is PAL but the datasheet indicates there was an NTSC version too. Don't know if NTSC version of this console was ever produced.

There is no NTSC version of the Commodore TV Games systems, but there were NTSC Pong consoles that used the same chip like the Allied Leisure Name of the Game, which I believe was the first (I have an NOTG with a very early 7600 in it), and the Coleco Telstar Arcade used all four variants of the chip.

There is also a TV Games 3000H, but the 2000K is better in my opinion.

Thanks. Was not sure if the NTSC version made it into any products.
