This may be a silly request, but I'm looking for some basic troubleshooting tips for a breadbin c64 that I just acquired.

When connected to a luma/chroma, or to a composite, monitor connection, the appropriate monitor flash is seen, at power on, and the red power light comes on. However, no display comes on the monitor.

I've actually never opened a 64 before, though I've owned several 64s and 128s, and a bunch of Amigas. Any common failure modes that might cause this?

Thanks!

Aah...thanks for the link. Since I don't have spare C64s to steal from, do you have any spare PLAs that you might be willing to part with?

Thanks!

Sorry nope, the biggest reason I have 3 dead is because it is a hard part to by, unless you want to spend $15 on the chip and I am too cheap.

There is a eprom solution, but i am trying it for the first time soon.
