C64-V9958-Cartridge released!

Hi, I just released my C64-V9958-Cartridge!
It adds the Yamaha V9958 MSX2+ Videochip with 128kB RAM to a C64: Up to 512x212 (424i) pixels, 256 or 19000 colors, 32 sprites. I also wrote a complete BASIC extension to use mode 6 and 7 incl. sprites. Everything is on git: https://github.com/vossi1/c64-v9958-card

Nice! Out of curiosity where did you source your 9958’s? I am working on an MSX2 to + conversion and got a bad chip. I may get a couple more to check this out as well

I bought them some years ago for a fair price. Now you have to pay much more. I think most of the cheap Ali offers are fakes...

It works, but I had some faulty pixels in my demo image. Maybe it needs shielding or it's because of the longer traces on the 128-pcb?
I built the same card for the cbm 610/710 and there it works perfectly at 2MHz - so it's not a speed problem...

PS: I tested it only in my 128DCR

The V9990 is nowhere available, except you buy a full box of 240 pieces for a 5 count value!
The C64 card works in the C128, but I hat some pixel faults in hires mode - even at 1MHz. Maybe the traces in the 128 are too long.
I also built a cbm2 v9958 cart for B128, B256 and P500.
