Hello!

My Compaq LTE 5300 laptop screen sometimes goes into this weird state.
Issue persists even after I turn off the power.
Some times later it starts working normally.
What could be the reason?

Could be bad capacitors, or broken solder joints somewhere. It also looks like the LCD panel itself has a seal failure and is letting oxygen/moisture inside the screen.

In any case, you'll have to take the display apart to do further diagnostics.

mine does this too, though not as bad - if I place my thumbs on the front plastic bezel near the lcd panel (but not ON the panel) at the 9 and 3 oclock position out from the center, my fingers on the back, sort of gently twist the screen, it snaps back to working. Hopefully that helps for you, I haven't opened the panel up yet to explore inside as that fix tends to work quickly and easily for me when this occurs. . . .
