Side rant: You have to essentially disassemble the back of the unit and remove the motherboard to get to it! :-(
Anyway, I got to it.
It's a Eagle Picher LTC-16P-CO-F-S3
My Google-fu must not be up to snuff today. Can't find any mention of it online
When I search, I get references to LTC-16P-CO-F-S8
http://www.eastwonderus.com/UploadFiles/eaglepicher/lisocl2.pdf
The size matches (.7x.7x1.9) my unit.
But, when I go search for said unit, all I find are variations on the LTC-16P-CO-FS15 or B9593T, which is longer

Looks like length is not a huge concern, all other dimensions being OK. There is room in the unit for the extra length.
But, before I pull the trigger on that, I thought I would ask, as I'll need to add a diode and resistor to anything I buy, and I was able to crack the little box open and I found a square lithium battery, with a small PCB that contains what looks like a diode with "F 5D" markings and a resistor with "102" on it (10 * 10^2, or 1K). It'd also be OK to source just the little square battery inside the box.
Thoughts appreciated.
