Hello everyone,

I have an Intel C8008-1 K3378 on a pcb.

How should I read this date code? My first thought would be week 33 in 1978.
This would mean a WWYY format. But 1978 seems far to late on a board with 1973/74 chips on it.
Besides that, I've seen many 8008 on the web with impossible date codes if you use the WWYY format.
So in my opinion the WWYY format is not used by Intel for these chips.

Can anyone tell me more about Intels numbering system?

Regards, Roland

That is the lot number - date code is probably on the bottom of the chip.

Hmmm I had a presumption that it was a batch number...
But there is no number on the bottom of the chip.

Any changes for further info on that batch codes?

There are some people that know the lot numbers but
the numbers they have do not represent dates.
I'm not one of those that knows the lot numbers.
I'm not sure if the code in the manual will work directly on the Intelec8
but there is code there to program the 1702As on the program card.
That code is in the manual.
If the I/O were wrong, it wouldn't take much modification.
