Hi I have low profile Yamaha ISA card with wave-table connector and NEC XR385. I would like to buy 26-pin ribbon cable.

Or you could use a male/male cable and coupler pins (cut off the extra ones).

Be very careful when doing that since the pins on male IDC connectors are usually swapped side to side, i.e. the odd numbers connect to the even numbers and vice versa (think about it); if you do what you propose the pins are not reversed as they probably should be.

Hmm I hadn't thought about that. I think the floppy cable extension would still work though.
 
Thanks guys, I just ordered the IDC connector and I will let you know if the cable works ;-)
I hope that I will not smoke the NEC board :)
 
So, I made the cable (with IDC connectors from ebay). I didn't swap any pins and the cable works like a charm ;-)
