Unfortunately there is nothing new to report about this. I have the drive in my "future projects" pile until I find a controller for *any* computer to hook it up. :)

I'm still trying to identify this hardware..I've had it forever!

It appears to be the same card seen in the photos here.

I think I have one of those controllers....and maybe the drive too....but I'm not sure:
From what little I can see of the controller at the 'selectric' web site, it looks to be the same card.
As for the hard drive, your TM501 is a 5MB drive, and the one at the 'selectric' web site is 10MB (see red sticker on drive top).
But maybe the switches on the controller allow for certain different drive models.
Note that the particular setup at the 'selectric' web site requires a special boot floppy.

Sorry to dig this up but I just bought a 5170 that included that HDD and a controller card . Really strange proprietary cable going from it to the card. I can take pics if you need them
