Howdy folks. Please feel free to join me as I pick apart the source code of the VMS version of Dan Lawrence's "DND", and then reimplement it in C with an eye towards future improvements, hopefully targeting 8-bit micros (at least initially).

Although I'd rather people used Odysee, I don't have any playlists set up over there yet and it's not well organized.
Source code and historical archives of the game at http://svn.ocfco.net/public
So far we have:
Intro and History of the game.
Map Data formats and comparison of the maps between surviving versions.
Monsters and how they work and what all they do.
A deep delve into the combat loop and mechanics
Still to come at the time of this writing, The magic spells, loot generation, and getting into the rewrite.
Please hop on over and prod me with a pointy stick if you find any of of this garbage interesting. I'd love to hear people's thoughts and opinions and experiences with the game. :D
